Recipe – No-Grain Lasagne

This one may not win a beauty contest, but it’s quick and easy. I made it twice already and it’s good-

No-Grain Lasagne

Lasagne is tasty, but most recipes use pasta. You don’t need it. You can replace the pasta layers with cheese. This version is single serving, and it’s made on the stove instead of baked.

This is simple. It’s a single serving of lasagne that uses layers of Jarlsberg cheese instead of pasta.

What you need-

Two slices Swiss or Jarlsberg cheese. (This type of cheese cooks just right)
Small amount of pizza or spaghetti sauce (about 1/3 cup)
1/4 lb lean ground beef
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella

I found 2 kinds of cheese that are handy for cooking like this, Swiss and Jarlsberg. Just put it in a pan on medium heat and fry it until it makes crispy layer. I got the idea when I saw a tiny, single-egg sized frying pan at the store. The result looks like this-

I use one slice to make the top layer. You could make several for a family size.

This is just one slice of Jarlsberg cooked on medium heat until crisp. Take it off the heat and let it cool.

Start a second slice of cheese and cook that one until it’s crisp. Then add the ground beef (already cooked), the sauce, and the shredded mozzarella.

Then put the top layer on, and cook slowly about 5 minutes, just enough to melt the shredded cheese in the center.

Easy. On this one, I just flipped the pan over on the plate.
